Surficial deposits and landforms are investigated and characterized with emphasis on their recognition and their inter-relationships with, and influence on, engineering activities. Air-photo interpretation, modern remote sensing tools and spatial information systems are applied to the design of terrain-evaluation maps to solve engineering problems.
