This course will explore how the visual constructs and/or subverts ‘woman’ as a cultural category. An emphasis will be placed upon the female body as it intersects with class and race. Readings from art history, history, cultural theory and feminist theory will be considered. PREREQUISITE Third-year standing or permission of the Department. EXCLUSION
