An introduction to reading, discussing and writing about German literary texts in German. Major periods, authors, and texts of the 18th and 19th centuries will be examined in their cultural and historical contexts. Students will be exposed to different genres: excerpts from novels and dramas, as well as short stories, poems and film adaptations. PREREQUISITE
