The purpose of the course is to prepare a student for professional practice in design and analysis or for advanced study. Topics include: stress-strain temperature relationships for two- and three-dimensional problems in elasticity, energy methods, axisymmetric stress states, introduction to the finite element method, and stress concentrations.
