MECH 473 Composite Materials

Composite materials have emerged as important engineering materials over the past 30 years. Composite materials display unique behaviour at all scales, which is determined by the particular combination of matrix and reinforcement materials and processing route. This course considers the processing and engineering properties of fibre-, whisker- and particulate-reinforced composite materials and laminates. Topics include composite mechanics, interfaces, mechanical properties and transport properties. (0/8/0/16/18)~ COURSE DELETED IN 2008/09 ~ PREREQUISITES: MECH 370, MECH 371
